Working out during vacation

I tried to head to the gym at odd hours to avoid the crowd.

Last week, my wife and I spent the long weekend at the beach. It was the perfect getaway. The location was pure paradise. The hotel is situated right on the beach, just steps from the ocean. We loved looking out at the waves, sunning on the white sand beach and breathing fresh air. The hotel included all sorts of amenities, including four different swimming pools, multiple hot tubs, swim up bars, restaurants and nightclubs. One of my favorite features was the fitness center. The area was spacious and included a huge wall of glass looking out over the ocean. I spent a lot of time running on a treadmill and enjoying the view. There was a selection of state-of-the-art ellipticals, rowing machines and stationary bikes. Along with a collection of dumbbells and weight benches, the strength training area provided hand weights, kettlebells and resistance bands. There were a variety of machines to target specific muscles such as biceps, triceps and abdominals. The upkeep of the gym was fantastic. There was free bottled water available, fresh apples and pristine sweat towels. Connected to the gym was a sauna and steam room. My only complaint with the facility was that it was often crowded. It provided such a great place to workout that everyone wanted to take advantage of it. I tried to head to the gym at odd hours to avoid the crowd. I was also reluctant to spend an hour of the beautiful day inside. I made an effort to get up super early in the morning. I’d get my workout completed before my wife got up and then we’d have the whole day to relax and enjoy.
