The gym helps me maintain my fitness level

When I was in high school, I participated in a lot of different sports. I ran track and cross country and played on the softball, volleyball and soccer teams. I took lessons in gymnastics and figure skating. In college, I continued to play volleyball and had free access to the sports complex. I was able to utilize a wide variety of state-of-the-art equipment to optimize my training and conditioning. I benefited from the knowledge of seasoned trainers and nutritionists. After I graduated college and entered the workforce, I was unwilling to give up on my physical fitness. Keeping in good shape and a healthy weight are important to me. I don’t want to lose my flexibility, strength, muscle tone or stamina. Because of this, I joined a gym. I am happy to pay the fees to have round-the-clock access to such a wide range of equipment. I have a key card that lets me into the facility at any time, day or night. I typically workout at odd hours so that I have the place to myself. I never need to wait in line to use my favorite equipment. Along with rows of treadmills, ellipticals and stationary bikes, there is specialized strength training equipment, speed bags, heavy bags, free weights, battle ropes and even an indoor track. At the end of the workout, I just love relaxing in the steam room, sauna or hot tub. I sometimes sign up for group fitness classes that are available on the weekends. A guided workout is a great way to try something new, meet great people and push myself out of my comfort zone.
