I am grateful for the help I received in paying for HVAC repairs

They started donating to our project in an effort to raise currency for repairs of our heating plus air conditioning system

I have to tell you that I have been seriously blessed in the past year. I know that almost everyone would disagree, and I can comprehend how offensive this assertion is. I do not mean to brag while other people are suffering! Let myself and others make that clear; however, this pandemic forced myself and others to make a lot of swings in our life that I otherwise would have avoided. Then as a response to all our life alterations and new work, our efforts have really paid off in a big way! When I decided to start a blog and podcast earlier this year I truthfully did not assume that it would make a difference. However, it has been altering our lives as much as the lives of others, however my listeners are so kind that they have even helped myself and others with unexpected issues, such as our central heating, cooling, and air quality control system tearing down. I never could have foreseen the drama that I would endure with our central heating plus air conditioning system when this year started. Almost as soon as the quarantine began, our heating and cooling unit gave out. My air conditioner system stopped finally working and our forced air oil furnace was barely producing any warm indoor air. I decided to wait out the air temperature issues because I did not have enough currency to tackle the professional heating plus air conditioning repairs; then thank God, our podcast listeners decided to help myself and others with our heating and cooling catastrophe. They started donating to our project in an effort to raise currency for repairs of our heating plus air conditioning system. Thanks to all of the people who care about our podcast, I can continue producing it without it feeling cold to death in our own home. This year has been kind of cool in more ways than one.

My podcast listeners helped fixed my HVAC system

I have to tell you that I have been harshly blessed in the past year, but I think that most people would disagree, and I can comprehend how offensive this assertion is.

I do not mean to brag while other people are suffering, so let me make that clear; but however, this pandemic forced me to make a lot of changes in my personal life that I otherwise would have avoided… As a response to all our life alterations and current work, our efforts have undoubtedly paid off in a big way, but when I decided to start a blog and podcast earlier this year I truthfully didn’t think that it would make a difference.

However, it has been changing our life as much as the lives of others. My listeners are so kind that they have even helped me with unexpected complications, such as when our central heating, cooling, and air quality control plan started breaking down. I never could have foreseen the drama that I would endure with our central heating, ventilation and A/C plan when this year started. Almost as soon as the quarantine began, our heating and cooling unit sputtered out. My a/c plan stopped toiling and our forced air heating system was barely producing any moderate indoor air. I decided to wait out the air temperature complications because I didn’t have enough money to tackle the professional heating, ventilation and A/C repairs… Then thank God, our podcast listeners decided to help me with our heating and cooling catastrophe. They started donating to our project in an effort to raise money for our heating, ventilation and also A/C system. Thanks to all of the people who love our podcast, I can continue producing it without being cold to death in our own home. This year has been kind of cool.

HVAC installation

We just made my HVAC problem worse.

I freely admit that there are times when I let the old ego take over when it comes to decision making.

This is not a good thing.

That’s because when I do that, it nearly always ends up costing me extra money. Granted, getting older has slowed the hubris. Yet, I still officially make dumb blunders because of a mix of pride plus ego. A recent HVAC unit repair plus the utter failure that ensued is a perfect example of that sort of problem. I came back from a quick company trip to find my house hot plus humid. I knew I truly didn’t want to spend the extra currency on an after hours HVAC service call. And, I truly didn’t care about trying to sleep with the house that hot. So, I called a neighbor who had claimed to once be an HVAC supplier. He was ecstatic to come over to help me with my HVAC unit. When it became evident, even to me, that my neighbor had no clue about HVAC units, I should have just called the pros. However, I went along with what was clearly a bunch of guessing at what was wrong. Well, we guessed totally wrong plus ended up trying to make an HVAC unit repair without the regular tools or factory parts. This ended as you can imagine. The two of us just made it worse. I ended up turning a routine HVAC repair job into something that cost me nearly a thousand dollars. I should have just called the HVAC service professionals from the outset. But, the old ego got in the way once again and it sure did cost me a bundle.

HVAC professional

I let my ego get in the way again.

I admit that there are times when I can so let my ego take over when it comes to decision making. This is not a fine thing. That’s because when I do that, it nearly constantly ends up costing me some extra money. Granted, getting older has slowed the hubris. Yet, I still often make dumb blunders because of a mix of pride plus ego. A recent HVAC repair plus the utter failure that ensued is a perfect example of that sort of problem. I came back from a quick trip to find my home stuffy and hot. I knew I absolutely didn’t want to spend the extra money on an after hours HVAC call. And, I absolutely didn’t expect to sleep with the house like that. So, I called a neighbor who had claimed to once be in an HVAC company. He was glad to come over to help me with my HVAC problem. When it became evident, even to me, that my neighbor had no clue about HVAC units, I should have just called the pros. However, I went along with what was clearly a bunch of guessing at what was wrong. Well, my neighbor and I guessed totally wrong plus ended up trying to make an HVAC repair without the regular tools or factory parts. This ended as you can imagine. We just made it worse. I ended up turning a routine HVAC repair into something that cost me nearly seven hundred dollars. I should have just called the HVAC professionals from the outset. But, ego got in the way once again plus it sure did cost me.

I should have called the HVAC pros to start with.

I freely admit that there are times when I can so let ego take over when it comes to decision making.

This is not a fantastic thing.

That’s because when I do that, it nearly constantly ends up costing me some currency. Granted, getting older has slowed the hubris. Yet, I still make dumb blunders because of a mix of pride plus ego. A recent HVAC repair plus the utter failure that ensued is a perfect example of that sort of problem. I came back from a business trip to find my house hot and stuffy. I knew I entirely didn’t want to spend the extra currency on an after hours HVAC service call. And, I entirely didn’t feel like trying to sleep with the house hot and stuffy like that. So, I called an associate who had claimed to once be in an HVAC company. He was ecstatic to come over to help me with my HVAC system. When it became evident, even to me, that my associate had no clue about HVAC systems, I should have just called the pros. However, I went along with what was clearly a bunch of guessing at what was wrong. Well, my associate and I guessed totally wrong plus ended up trying to make an HVAC repair without the proper tools or factory parts. This ended as you can imagine. We made it worse. I ended up turning a routine HVAC repair into something that cost me nearly eight hundred dollars. I should have just called the HVAC professionals from the start. But, my ego got in the way once again and it sure did cost me a lot.

Zone controlled HVAC

My ego cost me a lot of money this time.

I freely admit that there are times when I can so let my ego take over when it comes to decision making.

This is not a good thing.

That’s because when I do that, it nearly always ends up costing me some extra cash. Granted, getting older has slowed the hubris. Yet, I still officially make dumb blunders because of a mix of pride plus ego. A recent HVAC repair plus the utter failure that ensued is a perfect example of that sort of problem. I came back from a quick company trip to find my house hot. I knew I absolutely didn’t want to spend the extra cash on an after hours heating and A/C call. He was glad to come over to help me with my heating and A/C. When it became apparent, even to me, that my buddy had no clue about heating and A/C, I should have just called the pros. However, I went along with what was clearly a bunch of guessing at what was wrong. Well, my buddy and I guessed totally wrong and we ended up trying to make a heating and A/C repair without the proper tools or factory parts. This ended as you can imagine. My friend and I just made it worse. I ended up turning a routine heating and A/C repair into something that cost me nearly nine hundred dollars. I should have just called the heating and A/C professionals from the outset. But, my stupid ego got in the way once again and it sure did cost me.

Police department needs simulation training shelters

Back in the Marines all of us used these things called simulation shelters.

They were absolutely just refabbed shipping containers that were attached together.

Inside of them all of us would simulate a series of real world disasters and training drills. Besides actual combat, I would say that the simulation shelters were where I learned most. These days, I am the head of the police department tactical SWAT unit. I have been feeling a real lack of cohesion with my team. What kept coming to my thoughts was that all of us need simulation shelters and simulation shelter exercises. The main thing is that you can’t just buy the a singles that the Marines use. So I had some custom built. They used the same sort of repurposed shipping containers. The workers worked hand-in-hand with me and did all of the custom welding. They set up the simulation shelters exactly to my particulars. Once everything was finished I put my team to work just enjoy in the Marines. Both of us went through endless scenarios in those simulation shelters. Now I recognize that my tactical team is far better prepared for an actual problem. I also recognize that they are absolutely working far better as a team. After all, that is what you have to do in those simulation shelters. That is also what you need to do in real life situations. The mayor has been complaining about the cost but, I assure you, it will end up saving lives. Besides that, these simulation shelters will endure the test of time. Long after I’m gone the police department can go on using these things.

Eating establishment for IT parking lot in shipping container

My old man has always been legitimately supportive of my silly dream to own an eating establishment of my own.

After all, I’m always the single 1 of us cooking for family celebrations.

I suppose that my father initially believed that I would take over his IT supplier a single day. But, thankfully, he understood that I needed to follow my own course. I started absolutely working at the bottom and worked my way up into a pressing eating establishment franchise. Then I worked a few other locations before I finally decided to work for the IT supplier after all. No, not as an IT specialist. I decided to open up an eating establishment on the IT supplier grounds! My father was completely on board with it. After all, he employs well over 300 hungry people who might enjoy my cooking. There wasn’t room to open up the eating establishment inside the IT building itself so I had to find an alternative. This was when I came across shipping basket eating establishments. When I told my Mom that he wasn’t too keen on the idea. I suppose he thought it would look cheap. That is until I showed him a few pictures and also explained that they are called pop-up cafes in Japan. Shipping basket eating spots can look legitimately chic when they are done right. I had mine done just right and my shipping basket eating establishment looks amazing. Better still, all of my food tastes amazing and I never have a lack of customers; People are even driving in from other locations to eat my food. It is not just the IT people. Now I am thinking of getting some more shipping basket storage added on to my business. I need more room!
