I took the worst fall at the barn yesterday… I am so thankful I was wearing a helmet.
I knew I was going to fall.
It is my own fault also. I should have looked at the saddle blanket before choosing to place it on the horse. The very moment I was in the saddle the bur dug into my horse’s back plus I ended up being tossed in the dirt. A bunch of people saw this happen too. I’m entirely cheerful they were able to catch my horse but it was certainly embarrassing. I played it off like I was good to go but by the time I untacked my horse plus got back to my place I was in a lot of pain. My hip hurt absolutely bad, I had an awful bruise on my shoulder, plus my neck hurt from the severe whiplash. I even had gravel embedded in my back. Once I cleaned myself up I just wanted to take a nap although I couldn’t get comfortable at all. Everything hurt severely, but somehow I ended up resting on the floor plus I actually fell asleep. The heat from our radiant heated floors felt so superb on my achy body. I must have slept for about 2 hours before I forced myself up off the floor. That is when I found more spots on my body that really hurt. That night again I couldn’t get comfortable in the least until I layed out a sleeping bag on the heated floor plus after that I was able to sleep like a baby. So over the next few days I essentially lived on that heated floor. I watched tv while taking it easy on the heated floor in front of the couch. I slept on the heated floor every night, plus I managed to recover from my injury. Within a month I was back on my horse. This time was actually uneventful.
