This is probably hard to believe, but there are HVAC scammers out there just waiting for you.
Not to hurt you or anything, but to try and steal money from you by selling you heating and cooling equipment that you don’t really need.
I know that this sounds a little bit crazy, but it actually happened to me last summer. My air conditioning stopped working and the temperatures outside were just terribly hot. I wanted to get the A/C fixed but I didn’t want to pay a huge air conditioning repair bill, either. I started looking online for different heating and air cooling companies to get some estimates for my air conditioner repair job. I found several different ones with good reviews in our area, but I wasn’t sure which one to go with. Then I came across another site for a newer HVAC company that was super cheap. I couldn’t believe how much they were willing to come and do a house call and a complete air conditioning repair and tune up for me. I was thrilled and so I called them up and made an appointment immediately to have them come out and fix the A/C for me. When the HVAC technician got to the house, he didn’t seem like he knew a single thing about my air conditioning unit! He said he fixed it, but my house didn’t start cooling down at all! Now, I’m pretty sure that I was scammed by him. I guess you really need to check credentials before you let people work on your air conditioning.
