I had to go down south on business a couple of weeks ago and I ended up having to switch hotel rooms because of a broken air conditioner.
When you’re in the southern part of the country, you can’t really mess around with the air conditioning situation because the temperatures are too high all the time. That’s been my experience, anyway. I hate being too hot, and that’s one of the main reasons that I try not to travel very much at all. Anyway, when my plane landed and I stepped outside to wait for my rental car, I was basically smacked in the face with the heat and the high temperatures. I couldn’t believe how hot it was outside! Then when I got into the rental car, I noticed that the air conditioning system in the car left a lot to be desired. I think they forgot to update the coolant in the car for this summer. Or maybe the A/C runs in the car so much that it can barely work anymore. Either way, the cooling air wasn’t exactly what it was cracked up to be. During the long car ride to the place that I was staying, the only thing that comforted me was the knowledge that once I got to my hotel room, I would be able to turn the thermostat down as low as I wanted it. Well, things don’t always go according to plan, I learned. The air conditioning in my room wasn’t working, either! I couldn’t believe it. The heat down south was really getting to me and I had only been there for two hours. At least the hotel let me move into another suite where the A/C was running like it was supposed to.
